The First Visit

During your first visit with our practice, Dr. Presken will discuss  your current and historical information to create a partnership with you for maintaining & improving your health.

 

What can be expected during the first visit?

  • This visit will be a comprehensive gathering of your current and historical information.

  • Dr. Presken will discuss with you your current and previous medical/health history; family history, work history, vaccine history, preventive care, lifestyle choices, and other non-medical factors that can affect your health.

  • Dr. Presken and you will make a plan together about future needs.

  • Time allowing, Dr. Presken may assist with urgent needs or complex medical issues and will let you know if a subsequent visit(s) is/are required.

What is NOT done at the first visit?

  • Wellness visits (also known as physicals/annuals/check ups) will be scheduled on a subsequent day, as soon as you would like.

  • Discuss urgent needs or complex medical issues that could not be addressed in the first visit due to time limitations.

  • Forms and letter completion will be scheduled at a later date.

Why is Dr. Presken’s policy that the first visit is always a Video visit?

  • We value your time, and video visits are easier for you to fit into your busy schedule.

  • You can see Dr. Presken from the comfort of your own bed or sofa.

  • Dr. Presken cares about you and all her patients. Less exposure to other people’s germs helps everyone, especially those who are chronically ill, pregnant, elderly or immunocompromised.

Why are we charging your insurance plan for your first visit with Dr. Presken?

  • Dr. Presken is spending time and using her medical knowledge to obtain critical medical information to maintain and improve your health.

  • The insurance plan you chose requires that all visits with Dr. Presken are submitted to your insurance plan.

  • Your insurance plan determines the fees that you owe for your visit. Please contact them with any questions about your charges.
